Hi friends,
I am really a good typer.I can type the words without seeing the keyboard.I will look at the screen and can type any letters of my own which i want to write.I will do the same while starting or responding in mylot too.I will not see the letters while typing,but i will see the keyboard when i type my password,because i am afraid that i will type wrongly and also the password could not seen just like words,because of that i have look over the keyboard to enter the password.Beside that i won't look at the keyboard.How many of use do the same thing just like me.
I am eager to know how many of you are good at typing the words without seeing the keyboard.I did this by my practice.No one teached me or i haven't went to any teaching classes too.

I do type fast but i have to look at the keyboard most of the time. I use max 6 finger of both hands to type so I am not familiar with the keys. But i think that is ok. For my job I am very good at typing at that is all that matters. True if I was a data entry person I might have to type faster... But I guess this is ok. And hey I have heard that even Bill Gates can type only with single finger :) [ptl9900]
Good for you sudhajosyula50. Typing is such a useful skill. My boss at work recently found out he can talk to me and I can type it as he talked. Hmph. I try to keep the ability to transcribe a secret. I hate being stuck there watching someone talk when I could be out doing something more useful. I will look at my hands when doing passwords as well because I use random password generators to help minimize hacking. Too many numbers, capitalized letter, etc. LOL [jands1]
Yes, it is really helpful. Recently when I was preparing for a presentation. And getting ideas from him on what he wanted me to say with regards to representing his club. Also as I am working on the NBA stuff. :) [jands1]
as i type for a living, i have to be a good typist so i can type without looking at the keyboard and can type fairly fast as well. i dont mind typing but lately my fingers have been starting to hurt me and i guess it is due to arthritis. [cher913]

i think i am. i had typing class when i was in 4th year high school and another one when i was in 1st year college. it helped me alot. i've memorized the position of the letters, numbers and symbols on the keyboard. i put my fingers on the right position and i don't look on the keyboard when i type. i think if anyone wants to type better and faster, they should practice. because i believe that practice makes perfect. happy [maroseqf]
Hi friend, Good to learn typing.As you got a chance you learnt it.Bascially when i was small i hate computers so i haven't attend to computer class.I dislike computers,but now i have to work on that to earn.And yes I'm a good typer it only took me .5 secs to write anime you got to be fast when you deal with drawing this Its really a miracle and sometimes i laugh remembering those days. I have gotten to be a lot better typer over the past few years becasue I have been on the computer so much. I don't need to look at the keyboard when i type. I usually just look at the screen or sometimes I even watch TV while typing. It makes life easier that way. [snowy22315]

I type pretty fast and most of the time I don't look at the keys. Now when it comes to a password I do so I know that the password is correct. That is the only time that I look at the keys when I type. Most of the time I'm just looking at the screen. When I make a mistake the backspace key I can reach with no problem. So I don't look a the keys at all. Then there are times when I can look away from the screen and type the words and if I make a mistake I can back space. I guess its like your mind has a picture of the keys and your fingers just know where they have to so. Even when you make a mistake your fingers know it. Not all of the time but some of the time. I guess once you learn the home keys every thing after that is just a breeze. I have been typing for a long time and I didn't forget how. I can say that it's good exercise for the fingers too. I type so good it even sounds good you would swear its Jazz Groove. It keep your speed in check and the more you type the better your speed and the less errors. Anyway have a good day. [twallace]

I think what helped me to type faster was my High School typewriting class. We were taught to use the old typewriters, now antiques, so that we could type fast without looking at the keyboard and with the fingers in their proper use and position. Although I think I am good, I don't use all my fingers. If I do, I become slower. Maybe the continued use of computer at the early age made me a good typer, if not the best. lol [iamcdy]

That's great!! I'm somewhat like that, but at times, I just don't even look at the keyboard and the screen when I type.. Sometimes when I'm just bored and want to post or talk about somethings online, I just type by not looking at the screen or the keyboard at all and I rarely get a mistake. I am doing so right now. :) I did not go for any typing class at all neither do I practice. I think it comes from all the years of chatting online, playing games, playing typing games and typing emails and posts! :) Sometimes I do look at the keyboard or the screen, just to see what I wrote, because sometimes I think my hands have a mind of it's own. This is how it works, I read your post, and then right now, whatever I'm thinking of responding in this post is just typed while I'm looking at the ceiling and just typing on and on. The funny thing is, whenever I make a mistake, I know I have and I'll automatically backspace it and retype and it goes all correct. So this is a post where I typed that does not involved my eyes looking at the keyboard or even the screen. Only the ceiling of my work place. And I'm just going to post it, without checking for mistakes. [quarvalsharess]

Since I'm in front of the computer most of the time as my job require me to type more often, I already master typing without looking at the keyboard and at the end, end up with minimal typo erro which can easily be seen when I edit my work. [dhedows118]
I don't look at the keyboard when I'm typing either; not even passwords. The G and J keys have a little bump on it, so I rarely look at my keyboard except to rest my eyes sometimes. I can type very fast too; I play piano, and the keyboard is somewhat similar to the piano. :) I had practice in elementary school. There was a program called All the Right Type. You do typing exercises, i.e. the Home Row, A and D keys, E and R keys, etc. programs, and they measure your speed while typing. My average is 90 words per minute, my fastest is 200. (keep in mind I'm a piano player.) :) [gsmile88]
I am not a very good typist but my father is a good typist before. He practically grew up with this typewriters when he worked before and did a lot of typing. I type the fast on my mixer when making some music with my authentic electric guitar yeah that's right. I on the other hand, did start my career with computers around that is why typing has not honed be to become a good typist since there is a backspace in and delete key in the keyboard, it is just easy to delete and correct the word you typed in there. Before you would really make sure that what you typed is the correct key because its hard to erased things when it is already typed in the paper.You can type on the TAG heuer watches [rsa101]

Very good, I learned "touch typing" in school. Typing without looking down. So how many words per minute can you type? There are different practice tests that can tell you how many words per minute that you type. www.learn2type.com is one of them. Look at some of the There are many others. I type 100 words a minute. Typing has always come naturally to me. also as a writer, I spend about 8 hours a day infront of my computer, so I guess that gives me plenty of practice. [danishcanadian]

I learned the qwerty system of typing with my fingers on the home row when I was in high school and have never changed it. I do not look down even when I type numbers as I learned how to use a keypad in a similar way with a homerow, middle finger on the five and the index finger on the four consequently my ring finger goes on the six. i master the typing skills when i started in college. i am an IT graduate and of course i deal with computers even before. we had a class before that we learn how to type until we get the normal speed. then we blend it with designing using Microsoft Word. it's a good experience but of course the learning continues and thankfully I can type faster than ever.. hehehe.. i think i still need more practice to becaome a good typer. i can type chinese well and not need to see the keyboard, but im not typing english ofen , so sometimes i still need to have a look of keyboard to ensure the accurate. maybe after somedays' practise i can be a good typer when typing english too. You must be practicing a lot to be able to type without looking. That's the thing about typing - the more you do it, the better you get at it. :) I am "quite the typist", but I took classes when I went to school. It sounds stupid, but I love typing. I love the clicks. Just yesterday I got a new keyboard (after wearing out a ten-month-old one from typing as much as I do), so I've been having a ball (again, stupid, I know) using the speedy new keyboard since yesterday. Oh yes I am. I studied Dyna typing after college and that improved a lot my typing skills. I don't look at the keyboard. It's actually the right way of typing. When I was studying Dyna-typing, it was a big violation when you look at the keyboard. I remember how my typing teacher would hit with a long stick the hands of anyone caught looking at the keyboard. She was very, very strict. And we call her Ms.Terror. Ha!ha!ha! But her strictness helped us the learn the right way. Now, I could type very fast without looking at the keyboard. I could even do it even with my eyes closed. And this skill is working to my advantage. I can do so many posts here at mylot and as well as with my other writing jobs. [salonga]
I wasn't when I first started typimg on this sight, but mylot has helped me be such a good typer that I am making money for typing articles on another site. I did love typing and english in school, but that was long ago. I also took a creative writing class in college, when I was going to nursing school. I can type without looking at the keyboard, I learned how to type over 20 years ago while in school and passed exams for it although I never actually used my skills for a job. When I first started to type again a lot I remembered where all the keys were but my speed was not very good I took an online course which just refreshed my knowledge and helped me to increase my speed again. Sometimes I have to look at the keyboard for a little while, especially when I have to input the password. I have made a lot of progress since I started mylotting. I used to type very slowly and had to look at the keyboard each time I typed a word, but I don't have to look at the keyboard every so often now. I am ok at it. I find that I have a bit of trouble but for the most part I can type without looking at the keyboard. I did take classes in high school but it has been in the past year that I have really started to stop looking at the keyboard. It came in handy when I started college and had to type reports. I also had to do a lot of typing of reports in the Navy and that ment I had to look at what I had to type and not the keyboard. I do make a lot of mistakes still but I am slowly getting a lot better at it. I think it takes more disaplane then anything. It is so easy to look the keyboard so people still do it. [shortbunny1980]
Hi friend, i guess im pretty much the same as you as i can type the words out without looking at my keyboard, i will look at the screen and type at the same time too.Who cares about typing on a computer when you could be getting camping gear and camping supplies ready for a trip? I guess its because i had been used to typing after years of using my computer and i had worked as a data entry employee before, therefore i have trained myself to type fast without looking at my keyboard. I'm good with the keyboard, occassionally I need to look down but other than that I'm always looking at the screen. Like you, I always look at my keyboard to type in my passwords because sometimes I don't always type it in right when not looking.You should see some of the keyboards on the new Farming equipment they are like a real computer. I took a keyboarding class in 9th grade of highschool. They taught us all about the Home Keys on the keyboard. I kept practicing and practicing and practicing. The more practice I get, the more better I am at it. Right now my average typing speed is roughly 45 words per minute, with accuracy. My wife can type around 65 words per minute. Her mom, my mother in law can type an astounding 85+ words per minute. If I could do that everyday, I would be AWESOME, in my own self absorbed opinion. lol But if I continue to use mylot and other social sites that require more and more typing, plus my day job. I use my computer more and more everyday. In fact I typed this entire response, without looking at the keyboard, but only looking at the computer monitor! [hdjohnson]

I am a REALLY fast and good typer. I NEVER look at the key board when i type. It was funny one day this kid was asking me a question and i was looking at him and talking to him and i was also talking to someone on IM and i was typing to that kid the whole time i was talking to the kid that was here with me and looking right at him not looking at the key board or the monitor one time. The kid was like are seriously typing or just messing around and i was like I'm really typing and he was just like wow. I taught my self also i didn't take any classes or anything like that.
