My company is giving us two month maternity leave, that means I will get two month resting at home after giving birth.
How about your company? How many month maternity leave do you have? I have heard some countries actually give 4 month maternity leave, that's really good. lol

Here in canada.. land of the free.. lol, We get a year to spend with our new babies. . if you worked 600hours prior to birth, then you get a percentage of your earnings.. i think its roughly 55% of your earnings for an entire year. . I never ended up going back to my job after me maternity leave ended. . I couldnt leave my babies with someone else.. i wanted babies so i could raise them.. why let someone else ? [Sissygrl]
Yeah, I understand what you meant. Actually I have also been thinking for quite some time for this issue even long before I got married. happy [kaka135]
Six weeks. Geez do I wish we had a year! [Lavender_Breeze]
I thought 2 months are the minimum one. I should be glad that we have 2 month maternity leave. happy [kaka135]
The last company I was working with offered 4 months maternity leave.. [joystick7]
4 month maternity leave is really good. Then how about your current company? [kaka135]
I'm still single my friend but I haven't of a company who's giving a four months maternity leave. Happy posting! [Llonorra22]
According to my mom, their company is givina two moths maternity leave. Happy posting! [Llonorra22]
There is a law in our country which gives a two-month maternity leave. . . How I wish it will be made to 4 months so all the married women will enjoy with their babies. [dorisday1971]
Yeah, the law in my country is also giving two-month maternity leave. It will be nice if we have four month maternity leave, but perhaps it's not good for the companies. lol [kaka135]
Here in Kenya there is a law for private companies to give employee 3 months maternity leave and public/government give its workers 4 months leave and they forfeit their annual leave. I work in a private company so I have 3 good months to be with baby and get monthly salary plus my annual 24 days leave. But you can not take annual leave together with maternity leave. [kwenge]
Hi there, thanks for your response. It's pretty good to have 3 or 4 months for maternity leave. It's also good that you still have your 24 day annual leave. I heard that in my company, we can actually apply for extended maternity leave, perhaps that's to deduct from our annual leaves, I am not sure. [kaka135]
When I has my daughter, I could have gotten 3 months, but I took 6 weeks because we didn't have to money for me to stay home that long. With my son, I was able to take longer because I had quit work way before he was born. I went back to work when he was about 4 months old. [CRSunrise]
Hi there, thanks for your response. It's good if you can quit your job, and get back to work when your baby is older. One of my friends quit her job when she got pregnant. But I really like my job, and I don't think I can afford to quit the job. lol [kaka135]
Well, not much! Around three months, but without salary. The employee is also requested to appoint a substitute and pay salary to the substitute. Doesn't that sound tough? Cheers and happy Mylotting [positiveminded1977]
Not double salary. The pregnant person is to pay the substitute, the person who is to work in her absence. :) Yes, the pregnant woman has the option to continue working throughout pregnancy. Some company policies are more friendly though. This isn't a hard and fast rule. The government of India, for instance, offers three months paid leave to the pregnant women. However, the government of India doesn't have that many jobs too. Cheers and happy Mylotting [positiveminded1977]
Hello my friend kaka135 Ji, As far as I am personally concerned, I do not expect any type of such leaves, however, when my last Grand-child was born, my DIL had 3 months, in addition to 3 months un-paid maternity leave. Sometimes, back, there was going to be Bill in our parliament to extend 6 months maternity leaves to such working women. My elder DIL, who is a house wife, her husband is a Govt. servant and he may get a fort-night such leave. I personally think, all such cases to be given 3 months such leave by all concerned (A case may be taken up world body), then 3 months un-paid leave and if desired upto 3 yrs after birth of child an option opened to serve as per their requirements, so that a child could be well taken care-off at Toddlar's age. may god bless and have a great time. [maygodblessu44]
Hello my friend kakak135 Ji, So nice for immediate comments. Sustaing with Administartion lies with us and we have to co-operate and compromise whole heartedly. may god bless you and have a great time. [maygodblessu44]
my company gives 6 weeks paid for natural delivery, 8 weeks paid for c section delivery, or 12 weeks unpaid. i just returned back on the 5th from my leave.. i did the 6 weeks paid. [randi1201]
It's not something I even asked about when taking this job a few months ago because I am done having kids. I have three now and that is really already more than I can afford. [tammytwo]
