I Want To Keep My Domain Name And Chancge Host

I have been thinking of moving back to NY. This will take some serious saving. I have thought of ways to cut my spending. $25.00 a month on hosting is a sure bet. For me selling bags it's ok. But can get costly when sales are down .Now I want to know if I go to a free site? Is it as bad as I have heard it could be? Or is it ok while I work on keeping my domain name. Even a lower costing host will work. I can switch my domain name. I have already contacted them. I have also looked into just switching to a free site. Please let me know soon. It will take all day to work this in my head. Thanks for the help..

the trouble with a free site mostly is the bandwidth, if your site has lots of visitors they may visit one day then your site become unavailable due to exceeding the bandwidth limit. as a temporary mesure you could redirect your site with your domain to some free webspace but i wouldnt reccomend doing it permanently. i recently signed up with a company called midphase, i have a refferal link if you want it, they supply you with: 25000mb webspace and 1.5 terabytes of bandwidth and they give you lots of free incentives and this costs $7.95 a month which is a really good price i think. i was going to paste some more information but i cant until i got 500 points. no problems glad to be of assistance :) [totalguy]

I have a list of free places on my sire, this page http://www.onlinemarketingworld.net/websiteresources.html The host I am with runs starts at 10 bucks a month, and would probably meet your needs, but I am sure I have seen somewhere that gives you hsoting for $3.95 a month.. I'll keep looking.. you know, it is also possible to host yourself? It would take a little research, but anyone can do it. Theres a link on my page that says how to sell web hosting for profit, thats where you can read up on the subject. Anyway, I will keep searching for the $3,95 a month site.. [Vacant]
thanks very much for the help. I'll check them out :) [giftsandbagscom]

I suggest 100 Web Space. http://www.100webspace.com/ They have free hosting as well as cheap hosting (there are 5 plans that range from free to $9.99). The free hosting vomes with all of the features I think you will need. Both my husband and myself use this site for our websites. I have the free site because I just use it for school he has the personal website for $2.95/month (I think it is less if you buy one year at a time). You can use your own domain name with either set up. We have had no problems with this company and have been with them for over a year. Customer service is very responsive and normally will respond back to any emails within 5 hours. [sedel1027]
I will have to say your on the roll again. I am looking for this price range for sure. Thanks very much [giftsandbagscom]

Have you taken a look at Godaddy? I transferred my website to one of their hosting packages two months ago. For 70.00 a month you can get yourself a nice hosting package with several php scripts and also still sell your merchandise and also keep your domain name. [feralcat]
I have GoDaddy and I went straight to them and pay 8.95/year for the domain name and then 3.99 per month for the hosting. I have had excellent customer service and almost no down time. I think that they are worth checking out. Let me know if you want more info. I recommend them to everyone because of the great customer service and exceptional uptime. [ArbonneLady]

Its fairly rare for a free site to allow you to keep your own domain address, so what I did was switch to a host that offered a very low cost for hosting my domain name. It has workd out fine, the switch did take a couple of days to go through, so I had to accept that my shop might not operate during that period, but as it happened nobody even seemed to notice and its all great now. I used nativespace as my host and get on really well with them. [nancygibson]
Thanks so much do you sell items on your site? If so may i have a look thanks. [giftsandbagscom]

You could link your domain to a free hosting service, but you'll have problem with the bandwidth.I did that and my website was very "lazy"...:( [hurri03]
I want a paid host for the ads to be off. But I also want a lower costing site. Thanks for the advice. [giftsandbagscom]

I think this might be off the discussion topic, but I'm interested in your bag making job. How do you do it? How much do you usually get paid? I think it's so interesting to be doing something so creative. Do you make them all on your own? [Sawsen]
Yes I do make them on my very own. It's very creative to reuse stuff. I am getting stuff ready to make a potato chips bag. I am still practicing. Thanks [giftsandbagscom]

you can definitely link it to a free domain like onlineshopping.com but these sites r very slow due to bandwitdh prob..as a whole i don't think tat u ll be benefited... [ashu_aryan85]

I recently got a free domain name from domainlagoon.com and then set it up with free hosting (no ads!!) and it works great!! [schmob]
do you sell off of this site? If so may I see what it looks like? Thanks very much I'll see into this for real. Low cost and no ads. Yeah You!!! [giftsandbagscom]

Are you serious? this is lots of money where you could ppssible get it for free. Check some search engines : such as google or askjeeves. if not free I saw as little as $1.95 a month. good luck do your home work ,you will save lots $$. [coolguy01]

if you have any problem or you do not have enough money, you should stay there. you do not have to move back to ny. [anabaik]
My mom is not able to get around as she did before. I need to move back for her. I could stay here, but you only get one mother. :) [giftsandbagscom]

I have hosting and domain for $10 a month and if you just want them to host that option is there too. You can get a 7 day free trial with them and then decide if you want to stay. They also have a great affiliate program but if you don't want to bother with that you don't have to. Here is my blog: http://cwilson26.blogspot.com To go straight to that post just look at the archives on the right and click on the title that says "Another great opportunity and Product" I hope this helps. [cwilson26]

Free sites are great for homepages Not so much for sites like yours i think your standings in the search engines will not be so good in fact some search engines wont even list you just my opinion [Pekachu]
If you go to a free hosting site you will get those ads. dont you submit your site to search engines [Pekachu]

I have a free site at Bravenet and for me itīs OK, they have a lot of free features available, take a look http://bravenet.com/webtools/affiliate/?csid=1241&afilid=3278559149 By the way my site itīs http://www.braveheartwarrior.bravehost.com/, mine itīs simple but itīs easy to put online a good looking website there. [braveheartpt]
Your site has no items for sale. This is great for you,and bad for me. My sales will be over run by competition. Thanks for the help. [giftsandbagscom]

I recommend HostNed web hosting http://www.hostned.com They have affordable rates (from only $25 a YEAR) and very professional service. [dynaweb]
Thanks so much for the help. This sounds a bit better for hosting. I shall look into it. [giftsandbagscom]

why pay for $25 a month just for hosting your site. there is other deal with that $25 you can get 50mb space and 500mb bandwith per month for one year. go search on google for cheapest hosting. I'm not suggest you to use free site because there is banner on it also they have limit your space and your bandwith. If your website for bussines that was not good. [istanto]

The problem with free hosting is 1. The display ads that can take away your visitors 2. you don't get your own domain name 3. bandwith problems If you visit my profile - http://www.mylot.com/kpfingaz - you will see a banner for hosting in the what I'm thinking of section. This site allows you to host your own domain free of cost and no ads are displayed. If you need more bandwidth they have several other different packages you can choose from starting at $7.95 per month. Message me if you need more details. [kpfingaz]

Some free sites aren't bad but it depends on how much your site is visited. Also realize that most have banners or pop ups to help pay for their cost. If you are looking for cheaper hosting check out http://godaddy.com They have some very good prices starting I think at $3.99 a month for hosting. With that you can get a free .info domain along with one other domain name for 1.99 right now (any type of ending) or you can use your own domain and just host with them, which ever you prefer. [emeraldisle]

You are selling stuff off your site, but one question, do you really get a lot of visitors who really make orders from your site per month? for free host, i think i can only suggest astralwebhost.com because i have just tried this one. the server's uptime is not bad. you get cPanel and other stuff as you would have with paid host. the only disadvantage for me is it only allows 3 databases (mysql). [nufoundglory]

if you want a free domain hosting you can get it from netfirms they provide free domain hosting with their free account and their servers are very realible, the only glitch is there will be a banner add in every page, if this doesn't interest you, you can go and check out this site http://www.easywebsolution.biz they are offering very affordable hosting. [blueman]

Hi giftsandbags, I believe I can help you. I been helping people get set up with the proper domains and websites. Your niche falls in the catagory of my concept. But I can show you how to maximize your earning potential, drive traffi from your home town or any city. I have a niche concept utilizing Global Domains International. I just checked giftsandbags .ws is available. Plus, GDI has a residual payplan for life. The cost is only $10.00 pe month. Now, if you go with the domain I would give you, you still could use your .com domain and point it to the .ws and mask it. But, you would have two domains working for you with one hosting. Now, GDI comes with hosting and sitebuilder and templates. Now, in your case you would have to use the FTP. I'm setting up people all across with a home town website with the proper domains to use, fortune 500 companies. But my plan will not cost anyone no more then $10.00 per month. Plus, you can duplicate my conept to others and get them on the same game plan and we work as a team. Once you have 10 people in your downline with a website, your at your break even point. In addition, GDI has a super weekly bonus program. For every 5 people you get into GDI you get a $100.00 bonus and your paid via paypal. Even though I'm promoting GDI, I don't recruit in the blind to get people in GDI, I put them in business with a purpose and having mulitiple income streams. But, you do not want to use free hosting if you want to climb the search engines. Free hosting the search engines penalize you. You already know the importance of getting traffic from the search engines. If your interested in speaking more on what I'm doing and how I think I can help you. Contact via yahoo messenger. My details are on my profile. Also, I've set up a mylot blog ring for mylot members only. If you want to create a google blog, I will link you on my blog. Check out my blog it's on the profile. [friend2friends]
I did the ws before and did not do well. I have no skills for recruiting others and such. This is why Icancel it quickly. I do think your on the right track. I'll have a friend check it out on monday and let me know. Thanks so very much. I'll keep your profile info in mind. [giftsandbagscom]
