My Baby Is Quitting Her Job And I Could Not Be Happier!!!

My oldest niece is 20 years old and she works for T.S.A. at the Los Angeles International Airport. Although, the pay is good, I never wanted her to work there in the first place. It is too stressful and dangerous. Now she is going to be working at a Bible bookstore right down the street from me and I could not be more over-joyed.

Oh that is great! You'll be able to go see her if you want to. Is she excited? I imagine there will be a lot less stress involved, but I hope her pay doesn't suffer too much. Does she live near you as well? [AmbiePam]
She lives a ways away by bus. But the Community College that she chose to go to is right across the street from me and the bookstore, so hopefully it will work out for her. [Rozie37]

Rozie I hope your neice will be happy at the bible store and I hope you will be able to spend more time with her. [teapotmommommerced]
I hope we will get to being as close as we were when she was growing up. The people at the Bible store are very nice, so it should work out just fine. [Rozie37]

Hi Rozie37! That seems to be good news! I wish her good luck on her new job and I am sure that you could be seeing her a lot if she will be just working right down the street from you. Take care and have a nice day! :) [faith210]
The church is next door and the book store is connected to the other side of the church. The only thing between us will be a crosswalk and the church. I am so happy for her. [Rozie37]

That sounds like a great place for her to work. I am glad she is in a much safer place myself. [Shaun72]

Good for you and good for her. Its nice to hear that you have something going on in your life that is making you happy. You have been having a time of it lately. [Polly1]
Yes, I have been quite over-whelmed and it will be nice to have my niece close by as a breath of fresh air. [Rozie37]

WOW what a big change for her!! I hope she enjoys her new job. It will be a lot safer for her...Lori [dumblnddzzy]
You just don't know how happy I am. One thing less for me to be concerned about. [Rozie37]

Well good for her and I hope she enjoys her new job :) Is this the neice that is dating the 40 something year old? how are things going with that if you don't mind me asking? [maddysmommy]
No, I do not mind you asking. And I believe that the jerk was 45. The niece that was dating this guy is the oldest of my sister who is suppose to be moving to Atlanta. She was trying to find her own place out here, but she didn't, and her father does not have enough room for her, so she has decided to go with the rest of the family to Atlanta. I haven't asked my sister about that guy recently. Since I found out that she was going with them, I figured he would be history. I kind of wish she was the one to work at the bookstore. I helped raise her and she and I have a good relationship. I would love to spend some time talking with her. She is extremely shy though. Mainly due to her stepfather's meanness. Another reason I would rather her not go. The one who will be working nearby is the mother of my great-nephew. She is my oldest niece and my favorite. We do not get along that well, because we are too much alike, but we love each other and there is nothing I wouldn't do for her. I was eighteen years old when she was born. My two sister;s and I were living together at the time and I was the babysitter. Everywhere I went, she went with me. Right now, she is attending Santa Monica College, which is right across the street from me. Her major is Psychology. That is what I told her I wanted her to study. One of us hast to be able to figure out what is wrong with us. I believe that we have the same Personality Disorder, hehe. [Rozie37]

I'm so happy for you and for your niece. I can imagine how worried you must have always been with her working at LAX. There's too much stuff going on these days to work somewhere like that, good pay or not. I hope she's very happy at the bible bookstore and that you get to spend lots of time together. Annie [anniepa]
I am very relieved and I already promised her that I will be there to bug her. I know the people in the store and they are very nice. [Rozie37]

Do you know how much she was getting paid? The Airport with all the security and police around, why would you say "stressful and dangerous"? [moshehackner]
Alright, I respect the "terrorist threat" however, I travel quite often and I don't think they are stressed about their jobs, with this new 3-1-1 rule, is b.s. (a load of garbage) since, half the times I have just got through the "security" with scizors, lighters, and water bottles. but if your niece has chosen an education and career path, I am very happy for her and glad that you are happy too. your response is always welcome. [moshehackner]

As long as she is happy that is great. s the pay change going to be hurting her? I would hope she will still manage financially with the new job. [giftsandbagscom]
Thanks so much for this. happy [giftsandbagscom]

As long as she is quitting for the right reasons and will be happy in her new job, then all is good. [newzealtralian]
Well for one thing, even though the money is good, she realizes now that it is a dead end job. Which led her to going back to college and this airport job would interfere with school. [Rozie37]

Wow, that's quite a change in both environment and pay. You do have some stress working in a store and dealing with all the customers and associated problems. I assume she was a Air Traffic Controller. If she was, then at least she doesn't have the stress of the responsibility of having thousands of lives in her hands. [desertdarlene]
Actually no, she worked for TSA. This is where they screen baggages for weapons and such. So in a sense she did have every ones lives in her hands. [Rozie37]
