What Do You Snack On At Work

I'm curious to know about some healthy ideas of "snacking" while at work. It has to be convenient, and healthy is definitely a plus. I usually eat saltine crackers while at work for my evening shift, but lately I haven't really felt in the "cracker" kind of mood. What kinds of things do you snack on at work?

I do not eat any food when I'm in front of the computer. I learned this lesson several years back when I accidentally spilled coffe into my keyboard. and worst it spilled though my pants and what an embarrassment that was. Now, when I felt hungry and needs to eat, I see to it that I would be eating away my my table. Or best, I go to the cafeteria to have my snack there. This rule too is being imposed to throughout my home. But when watching TV at home, i do like popcorn and fries. [Fulltank]

With my new job I don't really snack much, but if I do, I'm sharing food with the kiddo! Which means I'd be eating fruit slices, string cheese, fig newtons, etc. At my last job I always ate snack with my students, so it would be whatever they brought in to share with the class. A lot of fruit slices, crackers w/cheese or PB, muffins, pretzels, cheese slices, mixes w/dried fruit, pretzels, etc. Oh and another great snack that just came to mind is yogurt! [Jennlk84]
You eat the same way I do! [ilyzium]

When I snack on at work, I never reckon it with the problem of health, I just feel there is a lack of something chewing in my mouth, it doesn't mean that I don't take care of my body, I just want a little flexibility. AS for the kinds of food, there are always a package of chewing gum and a package of sugar lying in my drawer, and I like to drink tea at the same time, it can refresh my mind. In the afternoon, I always phone the shop up to send me some snacks, such as chocolate desserts or shengjian(a Chinese speciality, I don't know how to translate into English), then I will be propelled to work hard and improve efficiency. Not potato chips because it ends to embarrass you by inflating your nether regions and makes look disproportionate but most of the tastier stuff is not good for health. I snack on the tastier stuff and try to be restrained about it. [sailor10]

I usually bring lunch to work and along with that I pack some bread with sandwich spreads. Those are what I eat for snacks. If I don't get to bring any with me, then I would eat crackers while working. I have a lot of workload and I don't have the convenience that I used to have to go to cafeterias and eat snacks there before I return to my office. I usually just eat in front of the computer while doing my work. I eat only when I am hungry. [silverglint]

During my snack time, I always look for a fresh milk and cookies which I have used to eat it during snack time. I think this snacks indicate as one of the healthy food and healthy diet. [irene3184]

I like having fruit bars at work. The one with cereals and nuts with some honey on it. It taste good and healthy at the same time. I also like peanuts in can...I like the garlic flavored with less salt and oil. And I sometimes do eat crackers..we have here a healthy type of cracker that is fiber enriched and delicious too. crackers are great, I also like snap peas or dates. I also keep some low fat chocolate pudding and jello in the fridge for those times you need something sweet. And of course yogurt. [foreverfarm1]

Wine gums and jellybeans, but that's not helpful for you at all! :) We have a candy dish at work and it's absolutely awful for my waistline (or anyone's!) but you try resisting walking by that 50 times a day when it's filled full of goodies. :P Anyway, if I'm REALLY trying hard to be restrained about it I'll slice up some cucumber, celery, snow peas, carrots and peppers and have those in a plastic container that I can just snack on all day at my convenience. Plus all the pretty colors and the variety makes it visual enough that I'll view it as a snack as opposed to "those veggies I'm supposed to be eating while the wine gums are still taunting me from 5 feet away". LOL Unsalted pretzels or rice cakes might be a good alternative to crackers if you're after the starch. Sometimes I'll bring in a container full of cheerios and eat those if I'm after a bit of crunch. [breepeace]

I like Panini. I don't where it is originated but it is a pizza dough with vegetables in it then a hotdog plus a spicy sauce. Perfect for my morning snack then paired with coffee. Sometimes I bring my own snack that I bought from grocery. It's sometimes hard to find snacks nearby the office. [thaMARKER]

Well, that depends on what kind of mood I'm in, whether I'm craving salty foods, sweets, or something crunchy. Okay, if it's something sweet I'll be craving apple slices with a bit of low fat cheese or peanut butter with it (Tbsp), or some yogurt with a bit of dried fruit and nuts in it. If I want something crunchy probably celery or carrot sticks with some humous- yummy absolutely love that! If I'm craving salty I'll have rice crackers with a bit of light cheese or with salsa. But I do try to eat very healthy most of the time and am not the kind of person to snack on chips, candies, bagels like a lot of my co workers do. I've seen several of them gain weight at work and wonder how they did it? I also try to drink tons of water throughout the day so that I'm less tempted to eat crap. [ilyzium]

Here's my list: chocolate chip muffin, but only the top; hershey nugget with almond, 2 sometimes 3; quaker oat rice cracker, but this has no taste so i finish half a pack; left over honey dipped donut from an office meeting; a toasted bagel with butter, even in the afternoon; and yesterday was caramel popcrn with cashew. Sorry, I just rambled. You got me started. LOL! [bounce58]
