Is it for greener pasture? a promotion? or you don't want you boss?
In our company, most of our young engineers are resigning and moving to work abroad for greener pasture. Most of the new hires are getting experience so they can find better pay and working environment.

I left my career of 15 years due to the lack of integrity and general corruption of the company. I just could not take it anymore. It was the best decision I ever made. [Transdisc]
First time I heard of corruption on a company. Even though, I heard there are kickback being receive by some person on a company. It might be true. [robert19ph]
The last job I was at i was there for 6 years, why I couldn't tell you, as I hated it. I left there just for that reason and i am glad i did, now I am in a position i love and working with people that enjoy being there as much as i do. [wildguy2]

one reason is the income of course there a lot of employment opportunities abroad w/ a higher salary that's why a lot of filipinos are going abroad...second is an employee is not contented w/ the management feels like the management or admin dept are unfair it's another reason why an employee will decide to move to another company last is if an employee is unhappy w/ his work..it's important that you enjoy and love what you are doing like me... i've been through a lot of companies because of these reasons... ^_^ [letzap519]

I left work only due to stress, I have also left jobs because I have not been able to handle the boss or needed a bigger pay cheque. [Island_Geko]

I decided to resigned last year for alot of reasons. First, I feel that my health is not good anymore because of too much overtime. I wanted to go home early but, our department head do not allow us unless we have finished our reports. Second, I feel that we're not getting the right salary rate anymore. We do alot of work and don't have any increase in the wages. It was only the duties and responsibilities which increases everyday. It's unfair. I know that there are more opportunities around. I think that the only reasons I would leave work is if I'm not happy there, if i'm not making enough money, or if they aren't giving me time with my family. I realize that a job is a place for work, however people have families and need to be with them at important times. [SilentRose19]

If you can find a better place and pay more go for it. Remember you will still have a new boss unless you have your business. Try patching things up with your current boss. [robert19ph]

i guess all of the above. i left mine because it reached a saturation point. nauseating point..and we also had a family event that i couldn't miss...what i didnt want to leave was the friendship i had with my team.mates, it was hard to leave..but i had to:) [day_lunz]

The main reasons I would consider leaving my job would be: 1) if I didn't feel I was getting anywhere - I am ambitious and have to know that there are opportunities for progression withing the company for someone with my skills 2) if my boss was being a jerk - i.e. he/she didn't know how to manage me/the team, constantly upsetting staff, making totally unreasonable requests 3) if the company was relocating somewhere I considered too far for a daily commute - career is important to me but the line of work I can I can easily find a job locally to where I live - I would not consider a long commute to work, no matter how long the journey was 4) if the level of work I was being asked to do was unreasonable - in my last company, shortly after I joined a member of staff left, I was given most of their responsibilities which I was able to manage, a few months later another member of staff left and I was given all of their responsibilities too, I ended up doing 3 or 4 people's jobs (remember these people all had full time positions) as the company was too tight to replace the staff who left - I would not do this again as it was very stressful and not good for my health All in all, I am very happy in my current job, I've been here about 9 months and not a day goes by when I think I'd be happier somewhere else. As long as the work is challenging, my boss is cool, I get on with my colleagues - I will stay here. When the job does not satisfy me or bores me that would be the time I would start looking elsewhere:) Remember the grass is NOT always greener on the other side, if you leave a job for petty reasons you might find your next job even worse and end up yearning for the job you left. These are all very true. Most of my friend who left our company follow all this rules when they resign. Even though they had grudge to the company, they graciously left. [robert19ph]
mostly, one would leave a job is FRUSTRATION..like inequality in advancement opportunites, inability to please the bosses and the like. second would ne the salary...I would leave my current job for a corresponding position with a higher base pay...loyalty in the workplace can be bouht nowadays, lolz and third would be a fresh change of environment...one would be bored of doing the same thong over and over without the challenge or the thrill.
