I work online as a writer and an editor, and offline as an artist, and I do indeed love my work. What kind of work do you do? Do you like it? I think it is a big part of almost everyone's life and that it is good when we find work we love.

I work 2 part-time jobs: as counter help at a dry cleaners and as a "data entry specialist": aka a typist. I really don't LIKE what I'm doing - but I figure that these are only my "means to an end"; only temporary jobs until I have the right credentials to do what I think I'll love to death - work in criminal justice and foreign relations. I'm going to school right now, and I'm hoping that once I have my bachelors degree - I can finally enjoy my job to the fullest! I agree with you - it's really an amazing thing to love what you do! [maezee]
You are very busy, and I admire what you aspire to do. And yes, it is a blessing to love one's work. Thank you for responding : ) Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
I am currently writing my own blog which I am loving! It is the best job I have ever had! Although it does not pay much since i just started. But I feel great after I have made an entry for people to read. I worked in retail before this and I hated it. Not my cup of tea. I feel that I am a creative person and writing lets me do this. I would love to write my own book too. [sherono]
Your choice of subjects is one in high demand : ) I do hope you can get back to the book. Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
I'm a wildland firefighter and yes, I do love what I do. There can be some very long days, but that's part of it. And the guys I have worked with are great, it's like having a second family. I started out doing it as a volunteer with a rural fire department, so if I didn't love it I surely wouldn't have been doing it without pay. lol My fiance is a structural firefighter and it is now his second love lol, at least that's what he says, I still say it's his first! lol We both know the dangers and risks associated with our jobs, but we also know that we both put safety first. [palonghorn]
What a brave and admirable service you provide...to people and to the land. Kudos to both of you, and do stay safe. Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
i work as administrative assistant in a real estate firm. its a very challenging job and i like it very much. am curious when you said artist. do you paint? is it a hobby? [tigeraunt]
You must be good at what you do, and I am glad you love it! Yes, I sketch and paint with oils....some I sell and some I give as gifts. It is my second love, next to writing. Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
I just promoted as an Assistant Manager at an international school that I work at. I'm so happy, my hard work finally paid off. I like my job either as an english teacher or as an assistant manager because I get to meet smart people and investors everyday, and there is always something new I can learn from them. Plus I that I can use English everyday at work, which is GREAT [always_natalia]
Teaching is such an important role and I admire those who do that. Congratulations on your promotion : ) Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
I am a teacher. I actually just finished teaching for the school year. I have the summer off and then will be moving, most likely out of state. So we shall see how quickly I find another teaching job! I'm certified in Elementary Education. I was teaching Pre-Kindergarten for the past two years. It's a VERY rewarding career. I love the children. I will definitely miss those kiddos all summer long. I typically teach in the summer. We have a summer program. But since I will be getting married next week and moving next month, I had to take the summer off and quit my job! [Jennlk84]
Congratulations on your upcoming marriage, and kudos, as well, for teaching young children. Such a very important job : ) Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
You you are an artist as well! Great! I just put on my thoughts online.(May be writer by my own right lol). Offline I work with an ace Cardiologist in a hospital here. It's been a long association and I love my job. If you ask me if I am successful or not, I will say that I have my own definition of success. That might not be getting more comfort or a status in a corporate house. A home maker could be as successful if she does her job well. Yes, I think I am successful. happy [mimpi1911]
I have read your work and would say that you are a writer as well as an assistant to the cardiologist. Both are very worthwhile types of work! I am glad you love your work. That is important to our well-being. Yes, I am an artist, and I love that as much as I love to write : ) Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
well, I am a refrigeration engineer in a manufacturing factory which mainly produce Air-conditionings, both household type and commercial type. And i love my job, though the pay is not much. Actually we produce a lot of ACs which are exported to all over the world. Sometimes i also have the idea to be a sales man of AC all around the world, then perhaps i'll make more money. But i still have no much confidence on my english, esp my oral english. So i suspend the idea and wait for my english become better, then i'll do the things i want. [Tuanshun]
Your job sounds like an importatant one. For me, loving ones work is as important as making money with it. Best of all is when you can do both. You write good English, and I am sure you'll soon speak it just as well. Much luck to you on achieving your dreams. Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
Well currently I'm a teacher and I have to say I absolutely hate it. The children are complete donkeys and I teach high school so they think they're grown. I just write them all up anyway and occasionally I get good children. I teach mathematics or algebra or statistics depending on the class assigned and I hate the subjects. Why? They are boring to teach and learn and I feel like I should be able to sleep while teaching them. I know the students don't care either. [djsimonmlb]
I am sorry you do not enjoy teaching. Perhaps it is the subjects, as you say, or the ages of your students. I do think teaching is an important job! I hope you can find a way to do that and like it, or perhaps that someday you'll have a different career you love. [PeacefulWmn9]
i like working hard to make money. I m teacher in a unuiversity by profession but the salary here is not adequate for me and i like working hard to make money....u can suggest me a way for that....ha ha ha [mahanjili]
I commend you on being a university teacher. Hm, ways to make more money? With your education, try writing and then sell that :D Have a great day. Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
Honestly, i do not like the work i am doing for a long years now. It is only for the sake of my income that i continue working. I've been looking for any online work for a while but never find any good paying site yet. Hopefully soon i can find something reputable. [ybonjoc]
You are so right, especially in the present economy. [PeacefulWmn9]
i work as an testing software engineer in a reputed software concern . i love to work but i am frustrated and getting irritated by the nature of job that i am doing now presently . there is nothing i got to do with the testing job and it is too savy. its is a kind of dry job and i am scared that is there any future for the testing opportunities .hope fully thanking god that atleast am in a job in the situation of recession crisis . [yuvaraj_chowdry]
Many of us are grateful for any job in this recession, as you are. The computer field has such potential, and is ever upgrading. Perhaps you'll find something you like better in the field : ) I hope this for you. [PeacefulWmn9]
i'am working for an IT company i like the work i'am doing, i need to work extra hours but still i like my job its giving me some kind of satisfaction...and i like to be very busy... [sooz1982]
I'm glad you love what you're doing. I also like to stay busy. My mom has always said that we're happiest when busy! I believe her. [PeacefulWmn9]
I'm working as a housewife, working at home. I like what to do but I just want to go out with friends sometimes, it can be very boring staying at home all day... [mermaidivy]
When I was younger and my kids were young, I was also a homemaker and stay-at-home mom. It is and important role. But yes, you do need to get out with friends, as it gives you a change of scenery and a chance to interact with others. Thank you for your response : ) Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
I am a household. But,I use my time twice in aweek to be volunteer as teacher in educating program to early age kids.I do indeed my work at home.I do my self without helper. And I enjoy my busy like play and learn with my students. [Zhizho]
When one takes it seriously and does a great job, homemaking is indeed a lot of hard work. I admire that you also do volunteer work with children! You are a busy and well-rounded person : ) Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
I work as a document officer for the IT department of an online gaming company.I also work part-time as project manager for websites in my former office colleagues own company.I actually don't like my industry.I prefer to be in the fashion and culinary industries.I am sticking with my jobs so I can earn money to help my family and buy my stuff and save for my future.it is much better than not earning money at all. [my_name_is_coco]
You do lead a busy life. And yes, many work because the money is needed. Perhaps someday, you will be able to get into your desired field. Kudos for helping the people you love. Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
hmmmmm Karen, I work at Workers Compensation and care for people who had an accident at work. I started doing this 16 years ago cause I needed a job badly and I just stayed there and so now I am still there. I cant say that I love that job but it pays all right, I am not rich but I can survive with what they pay and even save up a little here and there. [book1962]
Injured workers need good representation, so you do a worthwhile service. As long as you can make it with the pay, that is a plus. Maybe in the future, you will find other things to do that you will love. In the meantime, as I said, you do valuable work! Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
I have always maintained that people who can genuinely love the work that feeds them, are very lucky indeed. For most of us, its just our daily grind. I dont have any online jobs and offline, I am working full time as a secretary to the MD of our company. I cant really say I dislike my job, what I dislike is going to office daily...its a kind of school-like discipline, you know. Ideally, I would have loved to earn from home and give enough time to my son but that's not possible. Even then, the pay where I work is good and the people are really nice and I am workign here for more than 10yrs, so I guess I am lucky too, when considered to many others. [sudiptacallingu]
Yes, love of job is like the best of two worlds. It is getting paid for work you enjoy. It sounds like you do enjoy the work, and since it pays well, that is a plus. It can sometimes be hard to maintain a rigid schedule day after day. I had to do that for many years, so I understand what you mean. I appreciate you contributing to the discussion. Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
Hi Karen, This is Tricy from India, I like doing online jobs like you? Can you suggest some online genuine jobs or online money making games, without investment. Can I join with you as an editor? and writer?? I love working online Please reply me, Regards, Tricy [tricytitus1]
Hi Tricy...I love working online and from my own home. If you are a writer, there are places like Helium, that pay well both for upfront and performance pay. ProBlogger dot com has a jobs board for writers and bloggers both. Constant Content pairs publishers and writers...and also pay upfront. If you have talent or an education as a writer, you can do well working online. Best wishes in your endeavors Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
Hi Karen and yes it is very fulfilling when we can get up and do the kind of work that we like. So many people are stuck in a job that is unsatisfying becasue they have to be there and require the job not only for the wages but the benefits that may come with it. I was a customer service manager for 10 years. I was one of the supervisors over a front end of 150 cashiers. I enjoyed my job so much and really liked becoming a part of my cashiers lives. i always left the door open to them if they needed to talk about problems they were having at home or at work and I never betrayed their confidence they put in me. I was one of the few who never ask one of my cashiers to do anything that I myself would not do and i think that bonded a closeness for us. I am no longer able to do this work becasue I have fibromyalgia and most days it is a chore to get out of bed. I miss it and I miss the closeness I had with my cashiers and they still will tell me that they miss me and wish I was still able to be there with them and that sure makes me happy to know that I left a mark on them that hopefully if they are ever put in the position that i was in they can do the same for their cashiers. flutterby [flutterbykisses]
You can be proud that you were such a good and memorable supervisor. I agree that part of that would be willing to do yourself whatever you ask of your workers. I also have fibromyalgia, which has made me shift gears in many areas of my life. I now work as I can from home. I hope you do well dealing with that illness. I know the difficulties. Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
I have been working as an after-sale engineer for years, but I think it is time for some change. The pay is not the point, I just cannot stand the endless business trips, even now i am in an official trip in Africa far away from hometown. I wanna get more time to enjoy my life and for further education. [heihong]
I can see where "living out of a suitcase" would become tiresome after a while. All the travel, even if you enjoy it, does limit what one can do. Some things require a home-base location and you in attendence to achieve. Best wishes with that. Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
I work as an assistant to two diplomats in the economic department of an embassy here in my country. My work involves a hodge-podge of activities from technical to secretarial. Part of my job involves making speeches and press releases for our ambassador, ministers and other superiors on agriculture and health related matters. I love what I do because it enhances my writing skills. I also love the atmosphere in our department, we're like a big family. My job and my colleagues are truly blessings in my life. [sunbeams]
I did indeed accept the request. It is a pleasure to be getting to know you : )) [PeacefulWmn9]
Well I don't really have a JOB, but I work in community services.. =D I'm a student yet and a year from now I'm about to graduate and the kind of work I would like to have is anything about publishing since I love all kinds of work related to it.. I also dream someday to own a magazine firm like Reader's Digest I don't know it's really my dream and I do hope it'll come true someday.. I'll work hard on it co'z I really want it.. You work online as an editor? May I ask what site? =D [cecillecarmela]
I'm sorry, Cecille. I don't know. Have you tried googling for sites in your country that pay writers? That might yield something. [PeacefulWmn9]
I am now working at a cell phone part company, but I don't satisfied with my current job. I will switch to another one, but not now. I need money right now, and also I need improve myself. Happy everyday, PeacefulWmn9! [pengbubu]
I think you are wise. Getting training and having a job at all right now is crucial. Thank you for responding. Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
Wow! so great o hear that PeacefulWmn9 . Keep it up! Yes I really like what I do as teaching kids . So much enjoyable and learning through. But I wish I could be like you an artist so that I will be expert in doing all the paper works and arts for kids.So nice to have that skills you have. [geniustiger]
Thank you, Tiger. I admire anyone who teaches children. It is such an important job! And I do believe that everyone, if they experiment, have some kind of artistic talent within them : ) Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
I am a professional online writer as well. I also work as a senior fitness specialist (offline). I do enjoy my work very much. I could not picture myself working in a boring job or one that I did not like at all. I think it is important to find work that you can enjoy if at all possible. [kcareconnections]
I completely agree. Work is a large chunk of our time and should be something we enjoy! Thank you for your input here. :) Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
I work at home online with paid to click sites, paid to post sites, paid to complete offer sites, paid to read email sites, paid to search sites, and paid surveys.I love working at home because I can work whenever I want and I don't have to follow a schedule.I can stop whenever I want and don't have to worry about a boss.happyhappyThe only negative about working at home online, is I am not satisfied with my earnings. [carebears]
I love working from my home online, too. Yes, to do the sites mentioned it takes a lot of effort and time to earn much. If you write well, composing articles along with the other things you do can really up your earnings. :) Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
I am a homebased appointment setter. My boss is from New York. He outsourced a few appointment setters here in the Philippines and I act as the Supervisor or the Team Lead of the team. All we have to do is simply set appointment for his Licensed Life Insurance Agents there in the States who will visit our prospect at their houses being able to confirm that the address we have on the record is right. And yes, I so like what I do everyday for 8 hours. It would be a total 9hours because we do have an hour break daily. [archerzbaby]
happy It sounds like good work. I hope that you enjoy it. I feel that we spend so much of our lives doing our jobs that it is really a blessing to like whatever it is we do :) Thank you for adding to the discussion, and have a great day! Karen [PeacefulWmn9]
